Project Enterprise by Anthony Glasson

Yacht designer Anthony Glasson has watched the first season of Star Trek. His eyes unconsciously follow the design elements of the Enterprise Starship, and after binge-watching the show, he sits down and drafts a yacht illustration that visually trails behind the galactic air vehicle. His trimaran superyacht concept, Project Enterprise, stands out through the generous open decks that surface from his concept.

Luxury in amenities comes to mind as Glasson imagines open decks with mini pools and large open spaces for parties and gatherings. The massive 84 meters length might already give the indication that the dedicated helicopter pad platform on the rear deck forms part of the superyacht concept. From this view, sweeping layered and oblong-shaped floor divisions style the Star Strek Enterprise ship, each space is dedicated to its own purpose.

Going up the Star Trek Enterprise superyacht design concept by Anthony Glasson, another pool-shaped open deck greets visitors before they enter the common area. Here, dark wood clads the walls while slabs of light wood colors the floor, arranged to look like sun rays. Above, Glasson carves a huge skylight to let the sunlight in, pouring right into the jacuzzi that sits in the middle. Openness follows the design cues as the yacht designer encircles the room with lots of windows, letting the passengers view the outside from the inside.

Walking down, the next room surprises passengers with its sizable custom sofa that tails the curves of the walls. Powder blue softens the environment and lets the passengers enjoy the knockout views of the sea. On the next floor below, the dining hall plays a different tune. Doused in more sophisticated, muted surroundings, the room gives off a coddling feeling to the passengers. Warm light brushes against the marble and carpeted floor occasionally underlined with the glint of silver accents.

Exercise junkies can find their heart space in a dedicated gym room on one of the floors, and Glasson positions the equipment right in front of the windows to afford landscape views of the sea. Right below the gym, an open deck with a C-shaped sofa welcomes those who want to laze about or take a break after some rigorous exercise.

Stepping outside by the front deck, the sharp triangle form of the hull recalls the whimsical paper boats with its pointed tip. Glasson’s concept for his Star Trek Enterprise superyacht indulges in the design spectacle of the show’s starship, only finding itself floating and sailing in the sea rather than in the void.

Glasson keeps his massive yacht designs under concept portfolio M51, and Project Enterprise is one of his most recent works. ‘I started M51 Yacht Design after a decade plus working in the superyacht industry as an engineer for onboard yachts up to 80m. Living and working on yachts has given me a different perspective on the world of yacht design. I strive to design yachts that are truly unique yet practical yachts that just don’t just exist on a screen but can be built to sail the oceans,’ he says.
