cyglo bike tires

while it is wise to have lights on your bike at night to ensure drivers see you, cyglo bike tires take this to a new level by placing LED lights directly onto the bike wheels. cyglo is the creation of james tristram and aims to maximize cyclist visibility at night. the design utilizes blue and red LEDs embedded into the tire tread or wall which once in motion create a ring of light. the lights are switched on through a motion sensor within the tire and can be set to blink or remain solid to create different effects.

  • My user asked me to try these.

    Tron says:
  • Interesting, however it’s a shame to build so much complexity and cost into what must be the most disposable of all parts of a bike, and also for that matter the most abused.

Would it not make more sense to include the LED’s into the rim?
