artist and innovator daan roosegaarde uses technology to explore nature’s behavior. in projects ranging from fashion to architecture, roosegaarde develops interactive and social designs that investigate relationships between space, people, and technology with such projects as ‘dune’, ‘intimacy‘ and ‘smart highway‘. at the 2013 BODW forum, the dutch creative will touch on the topics of how the world is changing from analog to digital, discuss how technology in a way has become our second language, present the possible outcomes of merging the world of fantasy and practicality, and how to add value to the places that we inhabit. roosegaarde has won numerous design awards, and his work has been exhibited at the tate modern and the victoria and albert museum in london, the national museum in tokyo, and public spaces in europe and asia.

daan roosegaarde is scheduled to speak on day 3 of the BODW forum, december 7th, 2013 during the morning session entitled ‘culture & the city’.
