dan abramson's mars dust globe depicts the planet's signature red storms

the young inventor, dan abramson, recently launched his newest toy: the mars dust globe. as a mars enthusiast who thinks people should reach mars and start a colony, he created a toy for the next generation of children who dream of their role in colonizing the red planet. after the success of his first design, abramson continued to create small-scale toys, this time encapsulated in a globe.

dan abramson’s tiny globe features a detailed texture of mars’ most prominent features. the valles marineris, tharsis volcanoes and olympus mons are depicted at a minuscule scale, showcasing the solar system’s planetary peaks. the designer also included both an adult and a child astronaut, to encourage kids to take interest and responsibility in this stellar endeavor.

famous for its large, planet-wide dust storms, the tiny planet had to undergo a similar phenomenon inside the globe. when shaken, the martian sphere is engulfed in a glittery, red swirl, that eventually settles and becomes clear. through a precise balance of material types and quantities, the designer reached the desired effect for the dust swirl to look impeccable.

the ‘mars dust globe’ is currently a kickstarter campaign, and is the first of a space toy suite the designer plans to create.
