david chipperfield appointed artistic director of driade



driade has announceed that it has appointed david chipperfield as its new artistic director. the collaboration will see the renowned british architect heading the company’s creative processes, including conceiving, developing and implementing the driade vision and focus; as well as being involved in making major decisions related to the development of the brand’s value and activities. chipperfield will work closely with driade’s chief executive officer and the astori family, and oversee the merging of the italian furniture establishment’s history with the contemporary — moving forward into the future.


on being chosen to taking on the creative responsibilities at driade, david chipperfield said: ‘I am honoured to accept the invitation of the new chief executive officer, stefano core, together with the astori family, to become the new artistic director of driade. there are a few companies that can rely on a wide and original collection with such a strong identity‘.

the birth of the relationship coincides with the reopening of driade’s milan showroom in via borgogna, a space which has been designed by david chipperfield architects. located at the heart of the city, it represents the best expression of driade’s identity, serving not only as a shop, but also as a sort of gallery. a carefully curated selection of objects and furnishings – from the most iconic pieces to the latest designs — will be displayed, exhibiting the diversity of driade’s products.
