deborah sussman loves los angeles
last week the exhibition ‘deborah sussman loves los angeles‘ opened at the WUHO gallery in los angeles.
the exhibit, which will run until january 19, 2014 focuses on sussman’s earlier work: pieces from her days at eames studio, the graphics she designed for the j. magnin department store with frank gehry and sussman/prejza‘s environmental graphics for the 1984 olympics in los angeles.

‘the exhibition came about when the architect, barbara bestor approached me back in june this year and suggested the idea of a retrospective show at the WUHO. since then both of our teams, nelson daly, the WUHO staff and graphic designer, tom kracauer have worked on putting it together. after quite some time searching through my archive we decided to focus on the earlier work as much of it hadn’t been exhibited or published before, especially side by side. it’s been a thrill to work on and we’re all very happy with the result.’ – deborah sussman
see more pieces from the exhibition and learn about deborah’s career in our recent interview with her.
