‘poetic furniture — frozen textile’ is hungarian designer demeter fogarasi’s thesis project at moholy-nagy university of art and design in budapest. the project’s foundation is based on the concept of poetry in the context of design, which is viewed as a determinant in the emotional power of objects.

the design process began with a series of material studies, working primarily with a biodegradable plastic (PLA) and natural textiles. emphasis was placed on the creation of a composite material that not only possessed excellent technical properties, but retained a natural look and feel as well. fogarasi’s poetic concept is frozen in the moment of creation, forever held in a position simultaneously rigid and fluid.
