DESIGN KOREA Pavilion at Maison&Objet 2023

During Paris’s prestigious Maison&Objet 2023 trade fair, the DESIGN KOREA Pavilion boasts a range of over 100 diverse products which fall under this year’s theme: ‘In quest of pleasures’. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the Korean Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP) joins to host the exhibit. The curators have selected designs from 33 of the nation’s most innovative enterprises, from eco-friendly pen weights to a children’s wagon. The DESIGN KOREA Pavilion can be found within the Smart Gift section of the second hall throughout the five-day event from 7-11 September 2023.

KIDP second appearance at Maison&Objet

The curation from KIDP of the DESIGN KOREA Pavilion marks their second appearance at the world renowned consumer goods and interior fair. The KIDP is dedicated to spotlighting the brilliance of Korean design firms and their distinguished products with the mission to extend their impact internationally. This was certainly achieved at the 2022 contribution, where the 43 hosted firms attracted the interest of 1,364 buyers. The international reach of the platform allowed participants to culminate interest from revered art shops, spanning institutions like New York’s Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art, and Paris’s Pompidou Center.

‘The competitiveness of Korea’s design industry has already surpassed global standards. The design capabilities of our SMEs are second to none,’ remarks Sang-heum Yoon, President of the KIDP, ‘On top of our participation at Maison & Objet in Paris we also plan to set up a national Korean design pavilion at major exhibitions in Milan, New York, and elsewhere to expand the market reach of K-Design’ continues Yoon.

At the DESIGN KOREA Pavilion 2023, Visitors bear witness to an array of innovative design products, each meticulously crafted to echo the essence of the Korean lifestyle. Among the selected participants are GOOBER, rhetoric, AB M ZERO Inc., JMINTL CO., LTD.
