designboom DESIGN TIME BREIL exhibition + party milan, april 17

the renowned italian watchmakers BREIL and designboom kick-off milan design week 2012 by celebrating the next icon in watch culture and design.

on tuesday, april 17th, you’re invited to join us for the DESIGN TIME BREIL AWARD CEREMONY in the evening, followed by a party later that night to celebrate the BREIL award winners and designboom’s 13th birthday!

DESIGN TIME BREIL EXHIBITION 3037 participants from 96 countries have participated in the DESIGN TIME BREIL international competition to design the next stainless steel wrist watch for the BREIL collection, hosted by BINDA ITALIA and designboom. the jurors (including designer fabio novembre and lava architects) narrowed down the entries to a shortlist of 100 submissions. during the upcoming design week, an exhibition will be on view in the BREIL showroom near milan’s duomo.

  IT’S TIME TO PARTY!

to celebrate designboom’s 13th year of publication (this year we became a teenager!) as well as the winning BREIL designs, we hope to see you for a night out that is not to be missed.

DJ tarun from new delhi will perform in milan for this special event only. spotted during our most recent trip to india, at 26 he is well-known for his experimentation with multiple genres and international tunes, remixed with current bollywood themes.

the after-dinner bash on april 17 starts from 22:30 and will keep going through daybreak c/o discothèque vanilla, via turati 29 (map).

party note —  located in the very center of the city, club vanilla can accommodate only about 400 guests at a time. entrance is free of charge… while space permits. party attendees must be of legal drinking age. the party starts with a celebration of the shortlisted and winning entries of the DESIGN TIME BREIL competition, during which complimentary drinks will be served. after midnight drinks are charged: cocktails (and all the alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks) can be ordered from the nightclub bartenders for euro 10/each, meanwhile mineral water is complimentary while quantities last.
