last week designboom travelled to belgrade, serbia to attend belgrade designweek and the modern2 design conference. the conference was a big success and featured some of the top creatives from advertising, design and architecture. the multidisciplinary nature of the conference was a welcome approach which helped create creative bridges between the speakers and attendees.

designboom’s editor-in-chief, birgit lohmann was one of the speakers at the conference on may 9th, presenting a speech titled, ‘thoughts on originality’. the day’s other speakers were patrizia moroso, erwan bouroullec, arne quinze, paola antonelli, alice rawsthron, graham fink and mirko ilic. the day concluded with a group panel discussion. a special thanks to the organizers and curators of this wonderful event jovan jelovac, nina babić and maja vidaković.
