while waiting for all the food to finish up this thanksgiving day, here’s a crafty food art project to keep you occupied. the DIY paper bag turkey can be filled up with popcorn, a delicious surprise for unsuspecting guests!

here’s how you can make the paper bag turkey yourself:

1. take a cut sheet of 8 1/2 x 11″ white paper in half lengthwise. make small cuts on the folded half to create loops. these will be the frill for the drumsticks.

2. to make the drumstick, make one hand into a fist and put inside of the brown paper bag, molding it around the shape with the other. fill the pouch 2/3 of the way with popcorn and gather and twist up the bottom. secure the frill from step one around base of the leg and glue in place.

3. for the main body, repeat the same process as the drumstick, and fill the bag completely with popcorn. fold the sides of the bag in and tuck the bottom edge under, gluing everything into position. fasten the legs onto the sides of the turkey.
