crafted out of solid wood sourced from forestry stewardship council managed land, the ‘surf-ace table’ and accompanying benches adopt the same construction tools and techniques as surfboards made by the ancient hawaiians. wood is first carved and shaped to the desired proportions and dimensions, then stained, laminated and finished. both the bench and table bear similar long silhouettes defined by a thin plane simply bent at its ends to create supporting legs. the duffy london-designed pieces are characterized by sumptuous curves and rounded edges that give a smooth and polished effect — akin to the slender surfboards that have helped enthusiasts ride waves for generations.
