unlike any other electric speedboat that sails the waters today, the edorado 7S is the brainchild of powerboat company edorado marine and springtime — a multidisciplinary design and consultancy studio from the netherlands. using a unique hydrofoil design, the speedboat’s exterior vanes lift the hull above the water, creating low drag which in turn increases maximum speed and range. according to springtime, the boat will be capable of traveling up to 40 knots with its elevated design keeping any choppy waters below at bay. the completely electric craft allows boaters to enjoy the luxury of speed on the water without the damaging environmental footprint, with many sources comparing it to the recent efforts of electric automotive company tesla.

the body is designed to float above the water for minimum drag and maximum speed

working in collaboration with naval architect peter bosgraaf and hydrofoil specialist tom speer, springtime is responsible for the industrial design of the 7S. where everything below the waterline has been engineered for minimum drag and maximum performance on the water, the rest of the boat focuses on usability, style and comfort. the 7S features classic and bold lines, combined with a contemporary automotive material mix and refined detailing. the resulting design aims to achieve an ideal blend of performance and luxury.

the eye-catching yellow hub features a range of smart features, while maintaining a spacious and organized layout. the front seats come with a flip-up bolster, allowing superior view on the water. the interior features lots of hidden storage space, as well as a lighting and audio system. all the boat’s digital instruments are placed behind a continuous glass touchscreen dashboard, while the innovative engine bay — with an electric motor and multiple battery packs — is visible through a window in the rear deck.

although not currently available, edorado marine are accepting pre-orders for the 7S with production to begin presently.
