presented ahead of stockholm furniture fair, a collaboration between portuguese manufacturer de la espada and italian designer luca nichetto results in the ‘elysia’ lounge chair: a perfect synthesis of superior woodwork and fine tailoring. conceived as part of the 50/50 collection – balancing handcrafted wood with complementary materials at a ratio of 50/50 – the seating unit features a solid wood construction and a double-fork structure that holds the padded shells and cushions of the seat and the backrest.

the ‘skeleton, which is traditionally hidden inside the upholstery, is deliberately exposed to showcase the craftsmanship and premium timber, as well as the fine upholstery work. finished with a traditional wood oil followed by wax, ‘elysia’ is available in danish oiled american black walnut or danish oiled european ash and a range of fabrics.
