seeking to create more than just an object, design polymath joe doucet wanted to create a ritual. the series of wine chillers were commissioned by wallpaper* for its annual handmade exhibit, and the final products were crafted by neal feay studio in santa barbra california. placing a chilled bottle of wine inside one of the engraved containers ensures that it remains cool by preventing the loss of cold through convention, conduction and radiation. based on the wind patterns of cold fronts that move around the globe, the grooved lines on the cases vary in depth as they wrap around the chillers.
