‘envisions products in process’ is a group exhibition that showcases everything but the end product. the collection of work aims to offer new insights into different phases of design that would normally never be seen by the public’s eye. the setup is intended to trigger a dialogue between designers, clients and manufacturers, who are encouraged to approach each project as a collaborator. by crowdsourcing ideas, the participatory collaboration allows for unexpected developments in the making process and ultimately gives rise to new-found joint ventures.

envisions presents the work of nine different designers and studios: adrianus kundert, bastiaan de nennie, iwan pol, jeroen van de gruiter, sanne schuurman, simone post, studio plott, tijs gilde and studio truly truly.

the work presented derives from the experimental nature proposed by the investigation into unfinished products. the outcomes explore numerous questions including the usage of time resistant products such as scratch-proof coatings, tactility within new technological innovations – including 3d printing – and the psychology underlying our everyday interactions with mundane objects. the overall exhibition introduces a number of themes relating to the idea of process and development, and the limitless possibilities contained within the practice of making.
