global online travel agency expedia have enlisted local architecture firm rapt studio to expand and re-design their downtown san francisco office and incorporate their recently acquired mobile app company mobiata. located on the 11th floor at 114 sansome st. within a historic landmark building, the development addresses the integration of corporate and start up culture: the spatial configuration provides employees with a flexible workplace supporting connectivity to company’s global offices. the HQ unifies the area as a vibrant social center with ample glazing throughout, raw exposed concrete beams and a color palette of warm grays and blues. a variety of communal elements are incorporated into the headquarters to accommodate collaborative working environment — standing mobile desks, benching areas, lounge areas, and unique phone rooms create a variety of neighborhoods from which to work.
