maison et objet fall 2016: reminiscent of traditional chinese landscape paintings that display delicate to heavy brush strokes of ink wash; shenzhen-based design studio EY-products took unwanted pieces of ebony to create the ‘ink-and-wash’ series presented at the interior decoration fair in paris.

EY products‘ range from home décor, stationary and desktop products that are handcrafted from nature coupled with traditional craft and chinese heritage. unwanted pieces of wood caught the designers’ eye during a factory visit and this led to the marrying of liquid resin with the ebony scraps. a rhythmic contrast between the tones of light and dark have been achieved to give the collection a unified look.
