felipe pantone designs miller division skateboard deck to embody the sport's energy

skateboard manufacturer miller division in partnership with artistic platform ‘ink and movement’ collaborate to create ‘signature series’ — a collection of limited-edition skateboard decks designed by contemporary artists. the first in this series has been conceived  by felipe pantone, an argentinian-spanish artist best known for his kinetic and energetic color compositions. pantone’s artistic career began at the age of 12 with his earliest graffiti works. now, pantone has taken his artworks in a variety of directions to explore mediums and modes of exhibition. with this project, the artist lends his artistic style to the creation of a skateboard deck with an optically trilling pattern and saturated color scheme.

each of the one hundred limited-edition decks miller division will manufacture, featuring the felipe pantone design, are hand printed and cold pressed on hard rock canadian maple. ‘I try to let my visual work evolve according to what I want to say on a conceptual level, without limiting myself in the process,’ describes the artist.

more specifically with this miller division and ‘ink and movement’ collaboration, in particular, pantone places greater emphasis on ‘bringing out the most dynamic side of my work, the one I believe better suits this discipline.’ the artist’s design features highly saturated pigments that seem to move to reflect the rapid zig-zag motions of the skateboard as if to parallel the sport and its precise, energetic movements.
