sun at six embraces innate qualities of solid pressed bamboo

Gentle curves carved from solid pressed bamboo and raw textures give shape to the eco-friendly Noura Bed by Sun at Six. Showcasing the furniture design studio’s commitment to sustainability, the fast-growing timber has been utilized to help reduce dependency on typically used slow-growing hardwoods while delivering a sleek finish.

Along the surfaces of the bed, the condensed graining pattern of pressed Moso bamboo has been embraced and left exposed, enhanced further by the rich finish of the studio’s in-house-produced tenna oil. Through this technique, Sun at Six transforms this sustainable bamboo into a dense wood timber, presenting an eco-friendly alternative to conventional wooden furniture planks.

noura bed: shaped from simple rounded geometries

The Noura Bed provides a platform for mattresses to rest on, with a rounded-edge geometry for the frame that exudes a sense of serenity into the bedroom while maintaining comfort and functionality. From the headboard to the footboard, the curving details extend to each of the platforms while protecting from accidental ankle bumps during the night.

Ensuring ease of use and comfort beyond a good night’s sleep, the design team at Sun at Six has integrated space along the side platforms where users can rest their phones and other small objects within easy reach. Meanwhile, the headboard has been crafted to support pillow-assisted reading.
