gestalten‘s ‘a delicious life‘, surveys some of the key players in the rapidly growing food movement that has seen the rise of gourmet food trucks, fusion recipes, and unique dining atmospheres across the globe. this is the result of a new group of entrepreneurs who are committed to enhancing our experiences with cuisine, and all that is related to it–the tools, packaging and presentation, growing and cooking processes etc. on one hand, there are those who are dedicated to rediscovering forgotten ingredients and cooking methods, trying to preserve culinary traditions; while others are focused on creating new recipes and tastes, awakening our taste buds.

changing the culture around food and intending to reconnect people with the land and where their nourishment comes from, today’s foodies are changing our perception about the role sustenance has historically played in society, bringing new meaning to the act of preparing and experiencing edibles through a range of approaches–from companies producing gourmet marmalades and olive oils, delectable confectionaries, to chefs who are revisualizing the look and texture of familiar dishes, surveying gadgets and contraptions used in making lemonade, beer and ice cream, to looking at the popularity of ‘fast-food’ gastronomy.
