glass blown tables – ‘blast’ by marius myking studio 

brooklyn-based marius myking studio has traveled deep into the heart of the norwegian forest to create a table that is blown into life. with artisan help from well known glass artist vidar koksvik and his assistants, the design consultancy was able to realize a mouth blown side table. the traditional handcrafted process of layering, heating and re-heating glass  – while constantly adding volume by blowing and forming  – has granted the ‘blast’ table a unique and one of a kind surface quality. the furniture pieces will be shown and silently auctioned away for the hurricane sandy recovery efforts during new york design week.
