GUCCI VAULT – RARE VINTAGE FINDS ALONGSIDE WORK BY EMERGING DESIGNERS

the gucci vault is welcoming new products handpicked by its creative director, alessandro michele. already home to rare vintage finds alongside work by emerging designers, the experimental online space’s shelves will now showcase limited-edition capsule collections from a wider selection of brands.

‘vault is a project that I have worked on with dedication and care,’ said alessandro michele. ‘it is an open laboratory in which to introduce new chemical agents to continue the experiment. for me, it’s a source of immense happiness that aims to put diverse energies into circulation and to celebrate my love for objects.’

CAPSULE COLLECTIONS BY DELVAUX AND CHARVET

alessandro michele’s treasures are showcased online in the gucci vault a space designed in collaboration with london-based multidisciplinary conceptual artist max siedentopf. the latest drop welcomes a limited-edition bag collection by belgian maison delvaux, and a collection of ties, bowties, pochettes and flower lapels by paris’ oldest shirtmaker, charvet.

the new collections are presented in a series of animated portraits, optical illusions and visual poetry.

with a series of optical illusions, the gucci vault showcases the bold and playful designs of international renowned shirt and tiemaker charvet. having opened the world’s first shirt shop in paris in 1838, charvet has a long and illustrious history of creating exceptional pieces. in the pieces, small camera gestures result in peculiar images that draw the attention to the shirts. the collection was inspired by charvet’s original 20s and 30s designs.

founded in 1829 and known to be the oldest luxury fine leather goods brand in the world, the delvaux collection features eight unique mini brilliant bags inspired by the gucci vault palette. based in belgium, the home of surrealism, the bags are celebrated with a poem, which they recite. ‘a talking bag — how surreal!so, to celebrate the capsule collection, vault presents a poem for each bag, even though ultimately these truly one-of-a-kind pieces speak for themselves.’
