dutch designer jolien hanemaaijer of hanemaai has developed two products for her project ‘future travel’. the first object is titled ‘my infinite home tool’ which double functions as a portable cabinet and bag. this particular item started from the maker’s personal experience with extensive travelling and having to live out of a suitcase, a device to bring attention to what artifacts are important to a person.

the second outcome of the investigation is a piece called ‘stretch out – home wear’. this is an indoor tent kit which consists of steel poles, a knitted blanket with wood print, textile panels, an elastic net and cotton rope with a built-in light cable and globe that can be plugged into an available outlet. this design was also a result of hanemaaijer’s globe-trotting, to create an intimate space in a foreign environment. these were presented at the central exhibition space of DMY berlin 2012, located in the former city airport berlin tempelhof.
