‘cap’ lamp by hiroomi tahara

as incandescent light bulbs will be discontinued in europe next year, milan-based designer hiroomi tahara proposes a new ‘cap’ lamp collection for fluorescent lights as the next mainstream.  the special feature is the shade:  this organic form is made with materials such as felt, 3D mesh, and sweat textile, and is fixed only with velcro, creating a natural curve.

proposing a solution for forms without molding, the ‘cap’ lamp collection requires little initial investment and fulfills the need for rapid, low-cost production.
