iF design awards 2013 60th anniversary

launched in 1953, the iF design awards were presented for the 60th time this year. 2,000 guests from the international design world, from the areas of design, business, culture, politics and the media, met up to celebrate the iF design award winners 2013. the awards ceremony night took place at the BMW museum in munich, on 22 february 2013, during the creative business week. in a festive atmosphere, iF managing director ralph wiegmann presented the 75 lucky winners with their gold iF trophy, designed by herbert h. schultes. 50 iF gold awards were given to iF product design award winners, 20 for communication design and 5 to entries in packaging design. in total, 4,352 entries from 51 countries were submitted to the iF design awards 2013. special guest professor peter raacke, who has been a guest of honor at iF award ceremonies for many years, shared his experience and memories from the past decades on the stage at the BMW world auditorium.

a successful 60-year history speaks for itself: since 1953, the iF design award has recognized outstanding design as assessed by international expert juries. manufacturers and designers working in product design, communication design and packaging design can submit their work in three disciplines. an opportunity that is used by large international groups, small and medium sized companies, by agencies and design studios.
