watchmaking takes its own dimension in the ‘musée atelier audemars piguet’ in vallée de joux, switzerland. visitors are drawn into the cultural universe of swiss horlogerie as they are immersed into a spiraling, golden journey of sculptures, automata and kinetic installations. the museum unravels and swirls around the surrounding landscape, revealing the complex yet impressive science of watchmaking. the overall scenography offers a diverse experience through and around as time becomes tangible.

chinese retail store ‘la moitié’ is definitely one to notice. divided into two completely different styles, the pink and black shop is a development of its two owners. the two personalities follow an asymmetrical approach where romantic architecture meets dark brutal strokes. the bold combination of styles gives the brand its unique identity thus elevating it into the competitive business scheme.

situated in shanghai’s world financial center, the well-known japanese eyewear brand sets the visual bar high. amid the numerous surrounding businesses and stores, ‘JINS SWFC’ makes its architectural stand as it draws shoppers into an almost levitating display of glasses. the five cantilevered tables that span across the interior take dimensions to the limit, allowing a to-and-fro circulation all around the space.

like a painting on a wall, the chinese ‘jiangshanyue sales center’ frames the xiangjiang river and the misty landscape surrounding it. covering 2,800sqm, the project reveals the designer’s love for nature through a minimal yet empowering architectural approach. the reflecting surfaces mirror the serenity of the outdoors creating a filling harmony inside.

korean clothing brand acme de la vie inspires an experimental and distinctive image as it brings the outside in. the high-end street fashion brand, also popular in china and the US, takes common elements such as the electricity pole and turns them into hangers and shelves that penetrate through steel frames and glass. the refurbishment project ‘NiiZ design lab’ distinctively plays with white and black, as the popping colors on the t-shirts decorate the interior.

the 16 sqm coffee shop lures pedestrians indoors through unexpected interlacing axis and metallic surfaces. with changing perspectives and angles, taiwanese design ‘ludan coffee roast’ is composed of triangles and gradients decorated in elegant reflecting finishes. the visual play of shelves, the details in metal, and numbers on the wall made of punched-plate steel all convey the meticulous craftsmanship of the interiors.

in organic shapes and energy, japanese skincare brand ‘shiseido future solution LX’ opens its first flagship store. the soft yet dynamic design allows customers to connect to nature’s energy, which unfolds through the white plaster walls and vessel-like lines. the welcoming light from the tempered glass reflects upon the smooth shapes, creating an even stronger connection to the outdoors.

with continuous and rapid changes in the business environment, chinese design ‘chasing light’ ensures that it fully represents the product’s characteristics. the chocolate store, expressed through dark brown and yellow illuminated grids, creates an interactive platform for visitors as they get to experience a playful spatial arrangement of partition walls and perspectives .

in wooden structures and earthy colors, chinese bookstore ‘yantai’ infuses a contemplative atmosphere through the countless literature. the design is divided into three levels, where each expresses a different aspect of the book culture. while the first floor functions as an entertainment space with a book and leisure bar, the mezzanine becomes an extended reading area. upstairs, a sea view concept including an exhibition area completes the project.
