IKEA lets people design their own couch and the responses are brilliant

twitter users are having fun with one of the planning tools IKEA has implemented on its website. allowing customers to design their own couch, fans of the swedish furniture giant have decided to push the customization option to its limits.

 

 

 

making use of IKEA‘s modular design technique customers are creating an endless variety of options, upping the stakes with each design. options include a $15,000 ‘power sofa’ and one with a swirling pattern that’s just as expensive. one twitter user went for a lexical approach and actually spelt out the word ‘couch’ while another created a fortress-inspired configuration complete with a drawbridge.
