after four years of planning, the banana shaped ‘kunstbar‘ by arne quinze was implemented, under the new staircase outside of the cologne cathedral. the belgian designer has incorporated artistic design elements in many facets: including color, light, sound, installations, paintings, furnishings and even a variety of beverages.

part of the offsite event program ‘passagen‘, the ‘kunstbar’ is a project in collaboration with art association ‘kölnischer kunstverein’. starting from this year, the association will assign the task of designing a bar to a different well-known artist, every year.
