iratzoki lizaso’s egon lounge collection for alki at salone del mobile 2017
the set includes different object typologies with smooth, rounded geometries.

salone del mobile 2017: french brand alki reveals the ‘egon’ furniture collection for lounge spaces, designed by iratzoki lizaso studio, at the 2017 edition of the salone del mobile in milan. viewers are offered a combination of different object typologies that coexist, each, with their own character.

the egon collection is composed of a sofa system, a series of pouffes and a set of coffee tables.
set for the salone del mobile, iratzoki lizaso‘s collection for alki is composed of a sofa system, a series of pouffes and a set of coffee tables. rounded shapes are the common denominator of these objects, since the designer duo aimed for geometric simplicity to avoid any sense of sophistication. the egon coffee tables evoke the traditional typology of tables where the edges are covered in a metal plate, usually full of ornaments. this basic architecture has been reinterpreted using hand forged iron instead. as a result, imperfect surfaces contrast with the otherwise modernist and geometric shapes of the three coffee tables.
