Studio Bizzarro & Partner worked with Architect Simone Savio to design and build the modern Villa. Situated right on a seaside resort in the province of Ferrara, Italy, the private home combines the need for spacious rooms, lit by large windows, with the requirement for privacy from the surroundings. The small plot of land and the heavily built-up area were the greatest challenge for the firm’s architect Sergio Bizzarro, who fulfilled this request by designing an ‘inverted’ structure. This meant creating a devoid of openings to the outside but featuring large French windows overlooking the internal patio and the swimming pool. As an additional shield against visual intrusion from adjacent houses, perimeter vegetation was planted to embrace the villa within a green casket.

The result is an elegant and refined living space to be experienced from the inside, which stands out from the surrounding buildings. Functional and equipped with the latest generation technologies, Villa FZ is built with innovative and sustainable structural solutions that ensure low energy consumption and high acoustic and thermal comfort. The Architects chose to enhance this well-being and healthiness of the environments by personalizing them with MaxFine slabs by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti for the internal surfaces and Iris Ceramica materials for the external ones.

At the entrance to the property, Marmi MaxFine Statuario Light 300×100 cm surfaces were used to cover the walls that lead into the house from the external covered atrium. Providing a contrast of color, the two-story area that unites the two floors of the building was enhanced with Marmi MaxFine Black Marquinia 300×150 cm slabs with a Silky finish. Its intense black background traversed by thin white veins creates a striking backdrop visible from the threshold of the house and the entire living area, becoming its focal element.

A stone effect was used for the flooring to provide visual continuity with the neutral and natural tones, with Pietre MaxFine Lavica Grey 300×100 cm slabs used inside and Pietra di Basalto Grigio 120×60 cm surfaces by Iris Ceramica, with a slipperiness coefficient of R11, outside, on the patio, swimming pool area and walkways.
