iris ceramica group’s attract transforms ceramic slabs with licensed magnetic installation system

attract by Iris ceramic group is a concept that sticks

Traditional practices of using adhesives, trowels, and grout in ceramics installation have an eco-friendly alternative in Iris Ceramica Group‘s ‘Attract,’ solution, the licensed magnet-based alternative to traditional porcelain slab laying. For exhibition designers and showroom creators dealing with frequently modified interior spaces, these slabs and their magnetic bases can be easily disassembled and reused indefinitely, with no loss in their magnetic bond. The Italian manufacturer’s product line was unveiled within an interactive, contemporary art gallery at Cersaie 2023, the international ceramics trade fair.

Based in Italy, Iris Ceramica Group is known for producing high-end porcelain products for residential, commercial and industrial architecture. With Attract, the company has continued in its mission to align with the goals of the circular economy by developing technologies. The licensed project was developed under its brand, Granitech, which provides those in the construction industry with technical solutions for porcelain slab systems.

installing & interacting with magnetic slabs

Iris Ceramica Group identified an opportunity to change the dialogue on construction and demolition processes. With Attract’s modular system, magnetized ceramic slabs reach jobsites ready to be laid on continuous horizontal or vertical surfaces. The absence of adhesives or supporting structures means that removal no longer necessitates full-scale demolition, thus safeguarding components within the system for future use. Elements from this collection can be repeatedly reassembled countless times, maintaining their magnetic properties. This is especially advantageous for architects and designers who frequently alter spaces like trade shows, galleries, and events. Even when the elements of Attract eventually reach the end of their life cycles, they can be easily separated and treated individually.

At Cersaie 2023, a tradeshow for ceramic materials, Iris Ceramica Group enveloped its debut of Attract in the theme ‘The Art of Being Attractive.’  This spirit was embodied in a video installation and an expansive mural titled ‘Blooming Bonds’ by the international artist Becha. Natural elements, feathers, vignettes of human features, and rich swaths of fabrics make up this expansive 18×3 m collage which tells of the Group’s values. ‘Design Your Slabs’, the innovative decorating solution for the company’s ceramics, invites visitors to modify the artwork with elements in a ‘texture library’ of Attract slab samples.
