Together with designer Guillermo Mariotto, Iris Ceramica Group shines light on the desire to re-invent ceramics, creating an imaginative blend between the brand’s aesthetic and the designer’s stylistic cipher. The result is a product of elegance that sheds a contemporary twist on a classical design. The playful reflections of the Luce Collection gracefully touch the surface, adding a sense of movement, sinuosity and warmth. Moreover, inspired by the collection, exhibition ‘Corpi di Luce’ takes over the brand’s Flagship Store in Milan, interrelating fashion, photography and cinematographic art, as the noble nature of ceramics unfolds for FuoriSalone until 28 September, 2022.

With Luce, Guillermo Mariotto, the designer of the project has taken ceramics beyond the boundaries of matter, starting precisely from what matter is composed of – all thanks to the expertise of the R&D Team of Iris Ceramica Group. Precisely, the earth it comes from is transformed into a broad surface to become duchesse satin: a soft, rich, precious and sophisticated silk that creates and reflects its surroundings, changing and creating light. Most importantly, Luce is also available with eco-active Active Surfaces®, the patented surface certified to ISO standards, with antibacterial, antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odor and self-cleaning properties.

Designed to bring life to something never seen before, Luce is a surface that changes according to the angle it is seen from. As the colors are reflected and transformed, the ever-changing faces seem to move like a soft, gracefully worn fabric. The almost realistic looking drape of ceramic invites anyone to reach out and touch it, and discover the wall covering from up close. Designed for both in and outdoor applications, the surfaces adorn commercial, residential projects, from façades to complementing furniture and accessories.

The collection is available in two sizes – 300×100 cm, with an especially strong impact and 100×100 cm – 6 mm thick. The range of colors runs from two variants of grey, including the paler, softer Silver and the darker Grey, towards a sophisticated Black, passing through the warm, suave Gold, the profoundly elegant Blu and finally the bright and shiny Pearl. The specific shades emphasize the 3D dynamism that the surfaces portray, revealing all the wealth of the matter that changes and transforms with every gaze.
