jasper morrison defines ando’s glass with slight side inclination

‘ando’s glass’ was born out of koichi ando’s desire for ‘simple glasses that can be used on a daily basis‘. thus, the owner of japan’s ANDO gallery approached jasper morrison — known for his simple and elegant portfolio of products — to respond to his wish. morrison developed two versions of ‘ando’s glass’ — short (S) and tall (T)variations — that are characterized by the slightest inclination on the side of the vessels. both the ‘ando’s glass S’ and ‘ando’s glass T’ are each realized by artisans who hand-blow them piece by piece into a mold, in an atelier located in old town tokyo. jasper morrison’s ‘ando’s glass’ design was included in the TOP 100 listing of the 2014 japan good design award.
