focusing on the tactile textures of different materials, south korean designer jeonghwa seo has created the series ‘material container’, which refers to local craft techniques. the furniture objects display their inserted components on a rounded base, providing a platform to contrast the two opposing structures. the conical containers are mostly made from cast aluminum, while the seats are constructed from a wide range of elements. the top pieces are cut in 300mm diameter for the stools and 500mm for the tables, both can easily be replaced with any type of standardized material.
