sophisticated cat tower designed by korean studio jiyoun kim

korean studio jiyoun kim collaborated with korean pet products company, milliong, to create the three poles cat tower. with a desire to make pet furniture unobstusive and blend in with home interiors, the studio designed a sleek, sophisticated cat tower to replace the more traditional plastic cat trees and litter boxes.

by updating the cat tower into a modern design piece, the designers aim to merge the human’s and the pet’s lifestyles into the same living space. the three poles collection creates harmony with its surroundings, without looking like conventional pet furniture. the collection was unveiled at 2019 seoul living design fair and will be sold as made-to-order by milliong.

three metal rods hold multiple birch plywood platforms to create different experiences and play areas for the cats. the pieces are detachable so the users can freely rearrange them according to their taste and the pet’s preferences. the system’s modular nature creates multiple arrangements to fit both the owner’s and the pet’s styles. the neutral color palette and pleasing materials are in sync with the idea to smoothly include the pet’s furniture in the owner’s curated environment. the light structure and the elegant aesthetics make the three poles cat tower an ideal piece of pet furniture for owners that appreciate design.
