jiyoun kim studio creates human-shaped perfume bottles to represent time and money

jiyoun kim studio has introduced a new series of perfumes with ‘nomes’ – a collaboration project based in the cheongdam area of seoul in south korea. the studio has envisioned the brand identity of ‘nomes’, the design of the new perfume bottles and the art direction in all respects, including package. the project consists of two forms which aim to highlight the concept of ‘masculinity’ by expressing two values of ‘time’ and ‘money’. the resulting shapes that have been created intend to represent the supposed fundamental desires of men in modern society.

with the design of ‘nomes,’ jiyoun kim studio wanted to add a sense of humor to the two different values while also portraying them seriously. based on a simple human figure, the bottle-top cover has been produced in two different styles. the baseball cap style represents youth, while the more formal top-hat shape represents money. a number of prototypes were created during the design stage to result in a balanced model, allowing the brand ‘nomes’ to form an image that matches the message they desired to express.
