3M, a world-class, science-based company, introduced the ‘scotch tape dispenser’ project with designer joongho choi. the product is aimed towards consumers who need rapid and frequent taping, such as cashers, and need to be safe from the sharp blade, such as children. a variety of widths – 12, 18, and 22 mm – and 3-inch long core rolls can be combined with the round wheel.

the internal structure operates beginning with a rubber lever has been embossed to provide a strong grip. as the component rotates on a gear, the material is with a blade located on the bottom. ‘by considering the form of the dispenser, the increase of the width cannot be avoided. however, this increased width is transferred to a pen holder to give extra usage on the desk environment,’ says choi.
