‘fernando chair’ by julian mayor

the ‘fernando chair’ is made from mirror polished stainless steel, whose welding lines create a counterpoint to the shiny surfaces. the heat distortion that occurs during construction, adding a level of depth and interest to the design. created by london-based designer julian mayor, the chair is on show at 21st21st gallery during new york design week 2011.

    DK says:
  • not sure if comfort should be a criteria in this case, it is just very beautiful!

    lil says:
  • Comfort is a must in any chair or else its just art or a bad chair. Also welding while wearing fleece is quite dangerous, be careful!

  • welding IS decoration here. NICE

    Klaus says:
  • I’m not sure it’s comfortable, but it’s beautiful.
