based in the wallonia region, it is the first time kewlox has participated in the maison et objet fair and with this occasion, presented a brand new storage collection named ‘mist’ and shelves named ‘tracks’ designed by brussels-based designer julien renault. the ‘mist’ storage system is based on a smart and clever assembly.

together, julien renault and kewlox explores the four steel corners, which retain crossbars and brackets to create a solid structure guaranteed for life. the concept of the minimal pieces is derived from the structure of an aluminum bay window. the insertion of frosted and tempered glass brings focus to the frame system and blurs the form and color of the contents stored inside.

in addition, ‘tracks’ is a series of shelves which re-interprets the top rail seen on each of kewlox’s furniture since the 50’s. by re-considering the top rail, ‘tracks’ becomes a wall mounted shelf useful everywhere in the house. with an eye on eco-conception, the accessory is made in plexiglas from the off-cuts of kewlox’s furniture production. with the presentation of this revived collection and refined image, kewlox hopes to attract a younger and contemporary market, but at the same time, corresponds the concerns of space-saving, conversion, customization, and sustainability.
