intervalles is a scenic installation by parisian artist kalou designed for the casa decor exhibition in barcelona, spain. located at the exit of the event in the scaffolded stairwell built for the event, you will find yourself facing intervalles – superimposed images of barcelona’s urban landscape – framed by the metal structure itself. a background photo is revealed between the 45 bands that make the front photo, mixing together to create a third chimerical image. the front picture is movable as a hand passes by or as an air current blows into the bands. images include the sagrada familia cranes mixed with a palm tree, two different street perspectives crossing each other and crafting an image something like a cubist puzzle etc. intervalles opens perception to an imaginary world, moving and disturbing the sigh of visitors meanwhile it dips the locals into a fiction made of familiar elements which make up the spanish city.

the installation was produced by print it! who specializes in visual communication and textile prints.
