karim rashid: data driven

data-driven, B1, 39″ x 50″, digital drawing on fujiflex, face mounted on plexi, 2010

new york-based designer karim rashid is currently exhibiting his latest series of abstract fujiflex digital works at the spoke club in toronto. the eight large-format digital paintings are a continuation of rashid’s interest in technology, translating digital data into a formal aesthetic – a cross between science and art. the resulting undulating forms are organic, digital shapes which move with a particular fluidity.

the show runs until october 23rd, 2010.

  • Very good work. lines and color are making volumes!

  • Those works have some symbolic meaning? Or, the weight of those works is only in the name of Karim?
