replacement limbs typically mimic the form of the human body, but this prosthetic arm by designer kaylene kau takes a different approach. instead of modeling her arm design after a human arm, kau developed a single piece prosthetic with a flexible tip. this arm is able to grip objects by wrapping itself around them. the design is meant to compliment the user’s existing arm and not a full replacement for the missing arm. a motor inside the design drives two cables that the wearer controls with switches on the upper portion.
