design company leaos presents its latest electric ‘pressed bike‘ developed by italy-based designer harry thaler. using an innovative production method, the brand’s piece is made of two spot-welded aluminum sheets which make it originally-shaped and extra lightweight.

the bike is only available in a single-speed configuration and comes fitted with a removable battery set in the upper tube. the bike weights up to 13 kilograms and costs 2.990 euro according to leaos’ website.

in 2011 harry thaler has designed a chair which used the same production technique. designed for moormann, the stackable ‘pressed chair’ consisted of 2.5 mm thick aluminum sheet, pressed and folded into shape without joints or connections.
