lee weitzman handcrafts wrap around wall shelf from natural walnut

lee weitzman fuses sculpture and furniture design

The Wrap Around Wall Shelf by Lee Weitzman unravels around a central drawer as a functional yet sculptural accent piece for the home. Hand crafted from natural walnut and easily mountable to the wall with hanging cleats, the furniture piece has been designed to infuse a spark of intrigue and creativity while allowing its user to display objects within easy reach. As the viewer’s eye is guided around its curving form, the central drawer, a focal point, invites them to look inside.

contemporary designs handcrafted from natural oak

Based in Chicaoog, Lee Weitzman, president and design director of Weitzman Furniture, has long explored the intersection between furniture design and sculpture. Utilizing wood as his primary material, the designer has crafted a range of contemporary furniture objects, from cabinets and lounge chairs to fireplaces and console tables. Experimenting with materiality, form, and functionality, his work explores how engineering knowledge can be applied alongside craftsmanship and artistic intuition to give rise to new design solutions.
