after introducing several atypical products, such as headphones and smartphone, leica experiences more possibilities of product design — the german company reveals two models of watches, developed in collaboration with local manufacturer lehmann präzision gmbH. the new timepieces are designed with minimalist german chic and have a manual-winding mechanical movement.

to maintain leica’s iconic identity, the models feature black dials, metallic hands and a small second indicator with a red hand. the L2 model is extended with a second time zone and day/night indicators.

planned to go on sale this autumn, the price for the watches has not yet been set, but leica says it would be less than 10.000 euro for the L1 model. the edition is not limited, but the first year’s production won’t exceed 400 pieces total.
