after decades with virtually no innovation, the game-changing HEX™ condom, by swedish designer brand LELO, finally looks to overturn this period of stagnation in the condom market and change everything for the better. through a blend of technology, design and years of experience in the pleasure industry, this could be the most important advance in condom technology for generations. the intention? to change people’s minds about condoms, by changing the condom itself.

our knowledge of the condom dates back a number of centuries, and its purpose has generally remained the same throughout history—to act as a form of birth control, and to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. in the early days, condoms were made from several different materials including treated linen and a variety of animal tissues, but it wasn’t until 1855 that we saw the introduction of the rubber condom that made the contraceptive more widely available thanks to mass production. then in 1920, latex was invented, ultimately defining what condoms are today.

but since then, very little innovation has been made in terms of advancing the design and functional effectiveness of the condom. and, while many people don’t like to use condoms because of the reduced sensation—risking the possibility of getting pregnant or contracting an STI—the only real ‘improvements’ are add-ons like ribs, dots and flavors, not solving any of the issues that people have with condoms. so, how can condoms become more appealing?

LELO has been working on a groundbreaking innovation for the past seven years that will become the world’s most stylish and luxurious condom. the LELO HEX™‘s thin honeycomb-like structure has an internally integrated pattern of 350 individual hexagons that cover the whole condom on the insidegripping the man so you can focus on pleasure.

these same cells that limit sliding, provide distinctive damage-containing walls limiting failures. but the climax of it all is that LELO HEX™ literally brings the heat. the design’s combination of a 0.055mm HEX™ web, with ultra-thin 0.045mm latex panels, sees the channels in between transmit the partner’s body heat to the other. so what does that mean? the LELO HEX™ molds to the unique shape of the wearer for comfort and sensation, and full on intimacy.

the LELO HEX™ is its honeycomb-like structure influenced by graphene

there’s a reason why honeycombs are the shape they are, and why snake scales move the way they do. it’s because hexagons are strong, symmetrical, and tessellate perfectly. they’re one of nature’s go-to shapes for anything needing to be at once lightweight, and incredibly strong. that’s why the structure of graphene – the thinnest, strongest material we know of today is … you guessed it, hexagonal,’ says filip sedic, inventor of LELO HEX™, and founder of LELO

the LELO HEX™ not only reinvents the physical condom itself: it re-invents the way they are made, and how we feel using them. it has the potential to change our perception of condoms, and in LELO’s typical fashion, manages to be stylish too! support the indiegogo campaign to bring the LELO HEX™ to market this summer here.
