fashion and costume designer lili pázmány set out to create an accessible clothing line that still bears a fashionable and modern look, the unobstructed collection. inspired by her own mother’s multiple sclerosis, she took it to heart to develop a fashion line that facilitates dressing up for people in a wheelchair. as a close witness, she observed that the general clothing lines in the market were not adequate to satisfy the special clothing needs of a person living with physical disabilities.

pázmány’s collection was born as a direct continuation of her previous studies, enabling a simpler method for people with disabilities to take clothing items on and off. her approach was to use skin-friendly material for an easier donning and doffing with built-in aiding elements, and even incorporating them as part of the look.

3D printed buckles are custom made for each garment to make them easy to wear

her collection challenges the aesthetics of these built-in aid components her garments. her belief of inclusive design led her to create her fashion-forward and urban streetwear-inspired line. the designer also attempted to bring attention to the problem of the hardships with dressing up and the special clothing needs of disabled people.

the straps are very characteristic and visible on the pieces, showing their functionality

the collection shows several possibilities that help the everyday of disabled people while giving them fashionable looks. the looks feature different shades of denim with bright, bold buckles and graphic text. the collection reminds viewers of the most current runways that combine neon straps and denim for streetwear. the designer attempts to take fashion to a new direction where barrier-free clothing exists and combats the lack of equal opportunities in fashion.
