at maison et objet 2010 in paris, spanish company lladro presented ‘the parrots party’. under the art direction of jaime hayon, the first collection of the lladró atelier, which is a new space for expression of the company’s in-house designers – new experiences in porcelain. reproduced down to the tiniest detail, the different species of birds seem to come to life on branches coming out of the vases, candelabras, coat-hangers and mirrors. ‘the parrots party’ is the result of a meticulous artistic process. from initial sketches to firing at high temperatures – each step is totally handcrafted at the brand’s workshops in valencia.
