berlin-based design brand loehr has expanded its’ range of furniture boasting an architectural interplay of force, planes and materials. whilst adding to its choice of colours and materials of existing pieces, newly additions such as the neo surface, the newton shelf, the plato bench and the euclides two-seater sofa newly reveal the brand’s radical nature through the finer details.

evolving from the collection’s already existing piece, euclides lounge chair, loehr have created a new two-seater with new fabrics from danish kvadrat textile brand, including those in collaboration with Raf Simons. the chair’s design is based on the principle of balanced minimalism, featuring an upholstered seat which appears to be suspended in a slender tubular steel frame.

a new bench, named plato, is also born from the euclides chair, carrying its design concept to the extreme by merely positioning the seat on one point. the bench-cum-ottoman comes with frames in mirror-polished stainless or powder-coated steel.

comprising of two bent sheets of steel to form a load-bearing triangular structure, a brand new wall-hung shelf is introduced called Newton. playing with statics and shapes the open profile of the storage offering allows the shelves to be placed seamlessly in a row and is available in two lengths of either jet black or pure white.

a new high table has been added to the faber product family, known for its award-winning and distinctive base frame made of solid oak. faber is an interpretation of the characteristic wooden structure of northern europe’s half-timbered architecture in a new format, in this case furniture. and to celebrate, the new addition as well as its cohort are available in new colours including industrial green, sky blue and zinc yellow.

loehr’s tangram side table has also evolved with its classy frame now available in a rectangular shape and in three new previously mentioned colours. with its steel frame of bent rods, the tangram table generates architectural landscapes and is offered with a powdercoated or mirror-polished surface with a table top in either solid wood or lacquered MDF.

the brand has also unveiled its new surface – the neo table, boasting a clear, linear support structure which will be supplied with a snow white HPL table top in the future. neo is a tribute to the principles of the de stijl architectural movement, a frame made of right-angled steel tubes supporting a thin table top made of black linoleum, white HPL or oak veneer.

the trio of brothers behind the loehr brand, david, leon and julian loehr, behind the collection hope to challenge perception through understated shapes, not destined for specific area but instead suggesting a kind of functional ambivalence fluctuating between the private and the public. as a result, the collection is ideal for offices or homes, an especially interesting for transitional spaces, receptions, semi-public areas, lounges and bars where the superior craftsmanship of the loehr furniture and distinctive look play well with their fleeting nature.
